The Program for Excellence in Selling at the University of Houston is a great way to add diversity and cross training to your resume and educational background.

This program is one of only a few nationally recognized selling programs. The Program for Excellence in Selling accepts students of all majors allowing you to continue studying in your major while also broadening your presentation and selling skills.

The Program for Excellence in Selling is a certificate program that will teach you how to effectively sell products, services and most importantly yourself and your ideas. This program can be used to fill your required 12 hours of advanced business electives if you are a business major.

In addition to learning current selling techniques from seasoned sales professionals, you will be given the opportunity to form vital contacts with leading Houston companies, many of whom are sponsors of the Program. If you think you would be interested in a career in Sales or you want to gain self-confidence, and improve your communication skills, then the Program for Excellence in Selling is for you.

Research shows that a surprising number of college graduates become sales professionals even though they did not major in Marketing or did not have an interest in sales while attending college.

Sales is such a strong theme in our lives. What better skill is there to polish? Throughout your life you will sell a variety of things. It started out selling Girl Scout cookies or candy for little league baseball, then it continued with selling your parents on the idea of letting you stay out later or go to that party. Now as you enter the business world, having the most effective selling skills will allow you to sell your ideas or even convince your boss to give you that well deserved raise.
