Business Idea:
To expand The Plaza Restaurant: A family owned and operated Tex Mex restaurant in West Texas.
At age 14 I began to work for my father at our family restaurant, The Plaza, in Amarillo, Texas. I started off bussing tables and cleaning early in the morning on the weekends. From then on I began learning what it meant to own a business. I could see my father’s worried face when business was slow and the joy of successful days. By the time I was a senior in high school I was a manager in the Amarillo store and assistant manager in two other locations that were opened. I have now been living in Houston for 3 years, but I continue to assist my father any way that I can. I am majoring in Entrepreneurship and Finance, and I will graduate in May 2013. I decided to come to the University of Houston because of the Wolff Center. I am proud to be part of this amazing program.
