Meet the BLI Team
Named for the college’s benefactor, the program allows students to earn this prestigious certificate within one year among a community of fellow leaders. The first semester consists of a leadership core curriculum while the second semester offers a variety of skill building and developmental workshops to address students’ unique needs. Students gain a deeper understanding of their strengths and ability to lead through a series of interactive leadership opportunities.
Before the business community’s presidents, executives and decision makers can thrive in the corporate world, they must first learn what it means to be a leader.

Emerging Leaders Academic Success Program

Leadership Minor for Business and Non-Business Majors
A minor in leadership will help students improve their sets of competencies for a highly competitive job market in the real world of business.
MBA Leadership Certificate
The Leadership Executive MBA is the University of Houston’s original EMBA program. The focus of the program is on providing executives the leadership skills necessary to assume top level positions within corporations, the government, or non-profit organizations.
Future Leader Mentoring Initiative
FLMI is offered to participants in the C.T. Bauer College of Business MBA Leadership Certificate Program to enhance their learning and goal achievement through personalized leadership mentoring provided by experienced leaders and business executives (Executive Partners) who volunteer their time to participate with a select group of MBA students.
EMBA Leadership Track
Organizations in all sectors have voiced concern regarding the apparent lack of leadership skills among their employees. A background in effectively managing human resources, ethics, change, organizational behavior, as well as an entire course devoted to developing individual leadership skills will address this need.
