Natalia Ballón

Student Program Coordinator

Born in the Land of the Incas, Natalia grew up in the capital Lima, often visiting her father’s farm for summer and holidays. “I rode horses, milk cows, drove jeeps and harvest crops when I was 10 all just for fun!” Growing up between two worlds gave her a unique perspective. “Being raised in an undeveloped country exposes you to different elements, shapes your ideals and experiences, it gives you strength”.

She had a profound love for her homeland and sports; she was selected to represent Peru as a part of the Volleyball National Team which gave her opportunity to travel to more than 10 countries before age 16.

Following her adventurous spirit, she migrated to the U.S. and worked very hard since then. She has worn many hats, from bartender and waitress to project manager and executive assistant. “I have tried my best, enjoyed and learned from every single job”. Indeed, her 7 years’ experience as an administrative assistant, positive team player attitude and problem solving skills is what makes Natalia a valuable asset to the team!

She currently pursues a B.A. in Political Science, a Bauer Interest Area in Latin America Minor and interned at City of Houston Council Member Ed Gonzales. She is also an active volunteer at Star of Hope and a dedicated mother to daughter Samantha and son Alfredo.
