Bauer Leadership Initiatives Team

Tommy Doss, SPHR, GPHR

Director of Leadership Initiatives

Tommy believes that the growth and development of students is the highest calling of leadership, and here at Bauer, that is his primary focus. As Director of Leadership Initiatives, he, his team along with its committed faculty, staff and community partners, are responsible for the “strategic, integrative, and inclusive” approach to leadership development here at the Bauer College of Business. His team takes great PRIDE in helping Bauer students cultivate the mindset necessary for them to build upon and develop their leadership gifts, talents and skills to achieve academic success, in preparation to thrive in a dynamic global business environment.

He joined the Bauer staff in 2009 as a MBA Career Development Specialist, for the Rockwell Career Center (RCC). He passionately worked with 733 part-time MBA Students, and 160 Executive MBA Students to provide career coaching, guidance, assessment, education and job search assistance. Prior to joining the RCC team, Tommy was the Manager of Leadership and Talent Development for Service Corporation International. And in a previous life, he was a Human Resources Director for 10 years in the healthcare industry here in Houston.

Tommy lives life full out each day, motivated and inspired by his wife, and two girls. He has completed ten consecutive half marathons and counting. And he plans to begin a doctoral program in leadership studies at Our Lady of the Lake University in fall 2013, which is where he earned his MBA.
