Admission Criteria Checklist

Please check the following statements as they are expected to apply at the start of Spring 2025.

I am/will be a declared accounting major student.

I will be in the traditional BBA program

I will be in the Online BBA/UH Extend program

Required

I have completed at UH:

ACCT 2301 and 2302 with a grade of B or better at UH but no 3-4000 ACCT course at UH; OR

I have completed any 3000 or 4000 level ACCT course with an accounting GPA of 3.0 or better

I have the following minimum number of hours, with the corresponding GPA, remaining to complete the accounting undergraduate degree by the semester I would begin the PPA. (Students cannot count secondary major hours and should verify their hours with their advisor prior to applying):
1. 45 hours and a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA; OR
2. 30 hours and a 3.2 or higher cumulative GPA.

I have fewer than 30 hours remaining.

Please note, although scores on the Bauer Writing Evaluation (BWE) are not considered for PPA admission, admitted students who scored below a 3 on the BWE will be referred to the Director of Accounting Programs and the UH Writing Center to enhance their writing skills.

Students admitted to PPA are required to attend the Language of Business Orientation the week before the semester begins. Event details will be sent via email by the PPA advisor.

Agreement

By submitting this application, I affirm that the facts set forth in it are true and complete. I understand that if I am accepted as a PPA student, any false statements, omissions, or other misrepresentations made by me on this application may result in my immediate dismissal from PPA.

I also affirm that if I am accepted to the program that a “PPA” designation is contingent on my being accepted and proceeding to the MSACCY program the following long semester after my graduation from BBA.
