Types of LANs Continued...
2. Peer-to-Peer Networks do not require a dedicated server, any computer can function as a client or a server.
All computers run special network software that enables them to function both as client and as a server.
Transparent access for authorized users of the resources in the network
Peer-to-peer networks generally have less capabilities than Dedicated Server Networks.
However, they are easier to implement as open networks (e.g. TCP/IP based LANs).
3. Zero-Slot LANs use serial or parallel port plug-ins, are inexpensive and limited in their capabilities.
