UH Names Xianjun Geng as New Dean

Following a nationwide search, the University of Houston has named Xianjun Geng as the next dean for the C. T. Bauer College of Business.

Geng comes to UH and Bauer College from Tulane University's A. B. Freeman School of Business, where he served as Senior Associate Dean for Academic Programs, Professor of Management Science, and Freeman School Distinguished Chair in Business. He will officially arrive at UH on May 1.

High Impact Faculty

Bauer College Associate Dean of Research and Professor of Marketing Vanessa Patrick received one of the University of Houston's most prestigious recognitions, The President's Circle Award, during a reception on March 31.

The President's Circle Awards celebrate UH faculty who published high-impact journal articles and books, received national recognition, and were awarded major grants and U.S. patents in 2023-2024.

Awards & Recognitions

Associate Professor Sana Chiu is a co-investigator on "Leveraging Large Language Models (LLM) to Measure Leader Character More Accurately," which has received $96,800 from SSHRC Insight Grants at the University of Western Ontario. She has also been invited to serve on the editorial review board of Organization Science.

Director of Accounting Program Initiatives Michael Kraten was named Chair of Intellectual Publications and Programs for the Sustainability Investment Leadership Council. He also served on a panel on the topic AI in Business and Business Education during the 32nd Annual Southwestern Business Administration Teaching Conference.

Associate Dean for Research and Bauer Professor of Marketing Vanessa Patrick took over as President of the Society of Consumer Psychology in March 2025.
