Seminar I: Foundations of Financial Economics (FINA 8338)
This courses reviews the theory of investments. Emphasis will be placed on the theory of
individual consumption and portfolio choice in a static environment and the effect of
this choice on asset pricing. This is a theory class, though some empirical aspects will be
discussed. A fundamental knowledge of linear and matrix algebra, price theory, calculus and
statistics is a prerequisite for the course.
