Manager as a Decision Maker
Information system designers have tried to affect managerial decision making with varying success (DSS)
Levels of decision making:
(1) Strategic Decision Making determines the objectives, resources, and policies of the organization (small group of people, complex, non-routine problems)
(2) Decision making for management control is
principally concerned with how efficiently and effectively resources are utilized and how well operational units are performing (close interaction with those carrying out the tasks)
