Decentralized Routing
2. Decentralized routing allows all computers in the network to make their own routing decisions following a formal routing protocol.
In MANs and WANs, the routing table for each computer is developed by its individual network manager.
In local area networks or backbone networks, the routing tables used by all
computers on the network are usually developed by one individual or a committee.
Most decentralized routing protocols are self adjusting: They can automatically adapt to changes in the network configuration (e.g., adding and deleting computers and circuits).
There are three types of decentralized routing.
