Network Architectures --The Problems in Interoperability
Microsoft Windows is the most popular PC-based operating environment.
Novell Netware is the most popular LAN environment.
Getting them to work together can be tricky.
Adding the Internet means making Windows and Novell interoperate with a TCP/IP network.
This is an nontrivial task.
Windows 95 theoretically provides support for both TCP/IP and IPX/SPX with the WinSock DLL, but this has proven problematic.
- “Where you go there you are.”
- “I have worked very hard to get where I am today. But where am I?”
