HI THERE,
For many, this is a season full of travel — hopping on a plane to visit family across the globe for the holidays, taking a well-earned vacation to a bucket list destination to close out the year or surprising the kids with a theme park trip for the first time.

Jessica Navarro, Executive Director of Communications
If I’m being honest, I’m not a good traveler. I overpack, I get nauseous on long drives (or plane trips, boat rides and just about any mode of transportation), and I don’t embrace the “go-with-the-flow” sense of adventure that’s a prerequisite for the title of “good traveler.”
Still, I love learning about the life experiences of others who are from areas outside my admittedly limited corner of the world. It’s not lost on me that the world where we currently live is both very big and very small — there are more than 7 billion of us, and while that’s a number hard to conceive, I believe that we’re all neighbors in some sense.
So I’m fortunate to have the job that I do, where I have the opportunity to stay put in Houston for the most part while engaging with Bauer College students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends from far-flung parts of the globe. I’m a better global citizen (and a better person) for the opportunity to make these connections.
This issue of Inside Bauer focuses on Bauer’s global reach, and I know that even if you’re a fellow not-so-good traveler, you feel like you’ve taken the greatest vacation ever after reading the stories we’re sharing.
Best,
Jessica Navarro
