Bio
Dr. Lin Zang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Decision & Information Sciences at the C. T. Bauer College of Business, University of Houston. Before joining Bauer, she was a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Her research investigates how strategic customer behavior impacts the performance of service systems and develops behavior-aware policies to improve efficiency and outcomes. Leveraging tools from queueing theory, game theory, and optimal control, I aim to provide rigorous insights to guide the design of information provision, incentive mechanisms, and resource allocation policies. I am committed to tackling fundamental theoretical challenges while crafting models that are grounded in real-world applications.
Her work has been accepted to Management Science. Her research received Second Place in the 2025 MSOM Student Paper Competition and is a Finalist for the 2026 INFORMS Service Science Cluster Best Paper Award.
