As a first-generation student, Sorosh Malekzad found a way to explore his lifelong love of problem-solving through the Bauer College management information systems program, where he will graduate this Friday.
During his undergraduate career at Bauer, Malekzad was a member of the Management Information Systems Student Organization (MISSO), Webmaster Officer for the Persian Society, and a member of the Hispanic Business Student Association.
“Growing up I've always been into technology and solving problems. After learning more about the Management Information Systems program at Bauer, I truly felt like it was a perfect career path for me,” Malekzad said. “Although I love coding and technology, I also have a passion for business and solving problems, and that's exactly what Bauer offered me.”
As he reflects on his time at Bauer, Malekzad points to the experiences provided to him at Bauer that have helped him grow.
“The most impactful thing I learned during my time at Bauer was how much being involved changes your path by opening doors for you,” he said. “I've been a Teaching Assistance/Instructional Assistance since my second semester, and the skills I've developed while being a student worker at Bauer have been life changing. I'm grateful for every opportunity that presented itself to me through networking and hard work.”
After graduation, Malekzad will join KPMG as an Oracle Enterprise Solutions Consultant.
