Bauer Undergraduates Featured on Poets&Quants Top 100 List

Two undergraduate students from the C. T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston have been named among the nation’s best, recently recognized on the Poets&Quants list of 100 Best & Brightest Business Majors of 2023.
The list includes management information systems senior Edward Blanco and accounting & finance senior Ana Vallejo Herrera, who were both applauded for their academic achievements, extracurricular leadership and business potential.

Management Information System senior
Edward Blanco is a native Houstonian who has developed an extensive résumé while attending Bauer College, which includes serving as an ambassador and UH Frontiersman as well as participation in the college’s LeaderShape program.
As a student in the Program for Excellence in Selling, he managed more than 15 territory accounts that exceeded the dollar quota by 210 percent for the Fall PES Open, a success that resulted in his invitation to join the Key Accounts Class.
During his free time, Blanco enjoys experiencing all nature has to offer by taking a hike or going for a run. He also loves creating music with close friends and hopes to be a self-taught guitar player this year.
After spring commencement, Blanco will join the Ernst & Young – Houston location as the newest Technology Consultant.

Ana Vallejo Herrera
Accounting and Finance senior
Ana Vallejo Herrera is a Bauer Honors student who has been admitted to the accelerated pathways program for the college’s Master of Science in Finance.
As a student, Vallejo Herrera has completed a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) research project in finance, participated in the Stimulating Urban Renewal Through Entrepreneurship (SURESM) program and served as the Sustainability Chair for the Energy Coalition student organization.
Outside of school, she loves to spend time outside playing golf or camping, in addition to trying new vegan restaurants and yoga.
Upon graduation, Vallejo Herrera expects to join Deloitte’s staff as a full-time tax technology consultant.
