Cate Wengelnik
Bio
Dr. Cate Wengelnik is a Professor of Practice in Management and Leadership at the C. T. Bauer College of Business, University of Houston. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at San Antonio and degrees from The University of Texas at Austin, The University of Hannover, and Texas State University. Dr. Wengelnik holds Leadership certifications from both Harvard University and the University of Texas, is certified in Artificial Intelligence, and possesses certifications in mediation, trans-cultural communication, business communication with Artificial Intelligence, and project management. Additionally, Dr. Wengelnik has a certificate in intercultural competence and maintains an active SHRM-SCP license.
As an Executive Leadership and Management Consultant, Dr. Wengelnik is dedicated to enhancing leadership and cross-functional team development on a global scale. With over two decades of international experience, she has expertly shaped leadership strategies and advanced global cultural intelligence among diverse stakeholders. Her tailored leadership and development training programs are designed to elevate intellectual and leadership capacities worldwide.
Dr. Wengelnik's contributions to leadership, global cultural intelligence, and high-performance teams have been recognized by the Academy of Business Research. She has been nominated for the University of Texas Excellence Awards and has won the Inspirational Teaching Award. Her extensive interdisciplinary research on cultural intelligence in cross-cultural engagements, transnational communication styles, and international negotiations underscores her expertise as a mediator.
A passionate advocate for executive and leadership advancement in multinational organizations, Dr. Wengelnik is an active member, practitioner and instructor for the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM). Her proficiency in English, Spanish, French, and German complements her leadership roles in multiple graduate and undergraduate study abroad programs to Israel, Germany, France, Italy, and Slovenia, among others.
