Academic Advisor for Certificate in Accountancy Program (CAP) and MS Accountancy
Edward Manouelian advises for the MS Accountancy program as well as for the post-baccalaureate Certificate in Accountancy Program (CAP) in the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. He has been with the University of Houston since 2008 and the Bauer College since 2014.
CAP allows students to take courses required in order to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam as well as courses that need to be completed before applying to graduate programs in accounting. It may also simply serve as educational enrichment for students seeking to expand their skill set in today's increasingly specialized job market. A large number of students in the CAP program were undergraduate majors in fields completely outside the world of business.
Edward himself has a Ph.D. in Slavic Languages from Harvard University and taught Russian language and literature for nearly fifteen years before serving as both graduate and undergraduate advisor in UH's Political Science Department. In 2011 he received UH's New Professional Advising Award, and in 2017 he received the Department of Accountancy & Taxation's Staff Excellence Award.
