Melissa Niles

Bio

Melissa Luna Niles is the Deputy Director of Network Administration at the UH SBDC Gulf Coast Network. In her current role, she leads business operations and information technology for the Texas Gulf Coast Network and oversees a team of professionals who are responsible for the administrative operations and technological services of the UH SBDC.

Melissa joined the University of Houston staff in April 2007 and has previously held positions in academic departments, career services, and the Dean's Office. She earned a BA in English with a minor in psychology from the University of Houston. While working at Bauer College, Melissa also completed the master's program in futures studies in commerce (long-term strategic planning and forecasting) in the College of Technology, where she interned with the Millennium Project to identify key global trends and their potential impacts on the state of the future.

She brings over two decades of experience in financial operations, human resources, and customer service to the Texas Gulf Coast SBDC Network team and has worked as a team leader in the retail and restaurant industries prior to joining the University.
