Bio
Dr. Jessie George is an Instructional Assistant Professor in the Department of Accountancy and Taxation at the C. T. Bauer College of Business, University of Houston. Prior to joining the University of Houston, Dr. George prepared accounting professionals for the Auditing and Attestation (AUD) and Information Systems and Controls (ISC) sections of the CPA Evolution exam through her work with UWorld Accounting, a CPA exam review provider.
She holds a PhD in Business Administration with a specialization in Advanced Accounting, as well as a master's degree in Management Information Systems, providing a distinctive blend of expertise in accounting and information technology. Before earning her doctorate, Dr. George served as a manager in the Risk Assurance practice at PwC, where her work focused on the integration of information technology and accounting.
Dr. George has more than ten years of combined experience delivering IT, financial, and operational audit and consulting services. She has worked with a diverse portfolio of multinational clients, including several Fortune 10 companies, primarily within energy-based industries. Dr. George is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) in the state of Texas and is a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
