Zach Schmidt

Bio

Zach Schmidt, a proud alumnus of the University of Houston class of 2021, emerged from a small Chicago suburb looking for a higher education institution that offered exceptional financial value, the opportunity to immerse himself in collegiate sports, and a new city to experience change. He found the University of Houston as his destination where he engaged deeply in student leadership and strong academic programs. Zach rose from being an officer to the President of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization (CEO). He also had the opportunity to get accepted into the Program for Excellence in Selling where he had many experiential learning opportunities to gain skills in the sales process and customer relationship management.

During his time as an undergraduate at the University of Houston, Zach's understanding of the business world expanded through various roles. Most notably, during his freshman year he became the first Campus Manager for a custom apparel company called Fresh Prints at UH. Here he built a large client base by consulting with student leaders of organizations on campus to outfit their members. In addition to this role, Zach had the opportunity to work as a Sales Manager Intern at Mattress Firm in 2019 as well as being a Financial Representative Intern at Northwestern Mutual in 2020.

His trajectory shifted when he got accepted into the #1 entrepreneurship program in the country, the Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship, where he spearheaded innovation and collaboration as a Dream Team CEO. Inspired by the impact of academic programs he engaged with, Zach redirected his focus from sales and entrepreneurship to higher education, advising students as a Career Specialist at San Jacinto College while organizing career fairs and professional development events.

Now, as a Program Manager at the Stanford Alexander Center for Real Estate, Zach blends his business acumen, leadership, and educational passion to shape the future of real estate professionals, embodying dedication to his alma mater and community.
