The MSACCY program is designed for students with any academic background. Students can enter MSACCY with an undergraduate accounting degree from an accredited university or they may complete necessary coursework prior to admission.
Students with an undergraduate degree in accounting generally have all required prerequisites met through their previous degree. Courses must be completed at an AACSB Accredited University within five years of entering the program with a minimum grade of ‘C-‘ or higher. For AASCB International Accredited Universities, course equivalency will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
If an applicant does not have a background in accounting, the General and Accounting Foundation prerequisite courses can be completed through the Certificate in Accountancy Program (CAP).
Finite Math with Applications (MATH 1324)
Principles of Financial Accounting (ACCT 2301)*

* If an applicant has not previously completed these courses, a course that combines the two is offered through the Certificate in Accountancy Program (CAP). This course, ACCT 5301 Financial & Managerial Accounting, can be taken in lieu of needing to complete both individual classes.

In order to have these courses waived, courses must be completed at an AACSB Accredited University as part of a BBA or MBA within five years of entering the program with a minimum grade of ‘C-‘ or higher.
If necessary, business foundation courses can be completed as part of a modified MSACCY degree plan where additional credits would be required.
Applicants who did not earn an accounting undergraduate degree, or do not meet the above program prerequisites, are encouraged to make an appointment to meet with our admissions team to discuss eligibility. To request an appointment please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Additionally, we welcome you to attend a recruiting event to speak with an admissions team member before submitting an application.
