Course Offerings

The scheduling of courses is subject to change each semester and all CAP courses are 3 credit hours. Within the grid below, FA, SP, and SU denote full-semester courses. Please view the semester legend for information about the semester sessions during which our courses are offered.

Most of our courses are taught in a synchronous online mode of instruction, but we also offer some courses using in-person, hybrid, and asynchronous online modes of instruction. There are synchronous online offerings for all MSACCY prerequisite courses.

Please consult the CAP Advisor when selecting courses for each term.

Course Prerequisites

A prerequisite must be successfully completed prior to the start of the course for which it is a prerequisite. Prerequisites must be evaluated before students take courses for which the prerequisites are required. For questions regarding course prerequisites, check with the CAP advisor.

A co-requisite is a class that can be taken concurrently with the desired class. For example, ACCT 5375 Internal Auditing and the Entity Control Environment is a prerequisite or co-requisite for ACCT 5379 Enterprise Risk Management so the courses can be taken concurrently.

This website is updated frequently and supersedes the information in the UH Undergraduate Catalog.

Modes of Instruction

  • Face-to-Face (FF): Face-to-face classes have students in a classroom with lectures and participation occurring in-person and in real time.
  • Hybrid (HB): Hybrid classes have a fixed meeting pattern that includes both face-to-face and virtual classrooms.
    • For example, a hybrid class might meet on a Tuesday/Thursday meeting pattern, with the Tuesday class meeting face-to-face and the Thursday class meeting virtually.
    • View the class notes to see the in-person class meeting days.
  • Asynchronous Online (AS): Asynchronous classes do not meet face-to-face, and they do not have a regularly scheduled meeting time.
    • Most of the class materials are available online at any time.
    • Some asynchronous online classes may include virtual class meetings, which will be arranged on a class-by-class basis by the instructor.
  • Synchronous Online (SY): Synchronous classes do not meet face-to-face, but they do meet at a specific time and day(s) of the week in a virtual classroom.
    • All class materials are available online.
