Introduction to ELASP
Dates: September 1 – September 4
Description: Let’s get to know each other and start building our Bauer community. Learn how to get involved with ELASP and make the most of your Bauer experience. You’ll also spend time at the Bauer Involvement Fair connecting with student organizations and opportunities that align with your interests.
Time Management
Dates: September 8 – September 11
Description: Share your goals and aspirations. Join your Peer Leader as they guide you through a discussion around setting goals, managing your time, and planning your semester. Bring your syllabi and let’s color-code your way to success!
Personal Branding & Networking
Dates: September 15 – September 17
Description: Your personal brand matters! Learn how to present yourself professionally both in-person and online. Peer Leaders will share insight into how to build your brand, network with others, and elevate your LinkedIn presence.
Study Skills for Success
Dates: September 22 – September 25
Description: Everyone learns differently — what works for your friend may not work for you. Discover your learning style and learn study strategies that match, so you can develop better academic habits and study more effectively.
Academic Advising for Spring 2027
Dates: September 29 – October 2
Description: Planning ahead pays off. Learn about the advising process, degree requirements, and how to prepare for Spring 2027 course registration. You’ll be ready to meet with your academic advisor and register with confidence.
Facing Adversity/How to GRIT Through College
Dates: October 6 – October 9
Description: College comes with challenges. This session will help you build resilience, practice self-compassion, and develop strategies to push through difficult moments with confidence and GRIT.
How to Interview Like a #BauerBoss
Dates: October 13 – October 16
Description: Interviews can be intimidating — but they don’t have to be. Get tips on how to prepare, common interview questions, and mistakes to avoid. You’ll also learn how to utilize Bauer’s Rockwell Career Center for mock interviews and more.
Introduction to Public Speaking
Dates: October 20 – October 23
Description: Whether in class or at work, public speaking is a skill you’ll need. In this session, learn techniques to overcome anxiety, organize your thoughts, and present with confidence in any setting.
Leadership & Values
Dates: October 27 – October 30
Description: What do you value? How do your values shape your leadership style? Reflect on who you are, what matters to you, and how to grow into the leader you want to be — starting now.
College, Finances, & Scholarships
Dates: November 3 – November 6
Description: Learn the basics of budgeting and managing your college finances. Get insight into scholarships, spending habits, and making smart money choices for long-term success.
Where We Go from Here: Letter of Self-Reflection
Dates: November 10 – November 13
Description: Take a moment to reflect. In this closing seminar, you’ll write a letter to your future self — one you’ll receive when you graduate. Reflect on your goals, growth, and what you want to remember about who you are today.

Bauer Involvement Fair
Date: Monday, August 31 – Thursday, September 3
Time: 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: Melcher Hall Back Drum
Description: Your one-stop introduction to everything Bauer has to offer beyond the classroom. Browse student organizations, discover resources, and talk directly with the people behind them. Whether you already know what you’re looking for or you’re still figuring it out, this is where it starts.
ELASP: The Hot Seat w/ Student Orgs
Date: Thursday, September 10
Time: 5:30 – 7:00 PM
Location: CBB 328
Description: Missed the Involvement Fair or left with more questions than answers? Student organization leaders take the hot seat and answer whatever you want to know in a fast-paced, speed-dating-style session. You’ll rotate through organizations, ask the real questions, and walk away knowing exactly where you belong.
ELASP: Career Fair Prep & Relationship Building
Date: Tuesday, September 15
Time: 4:00 – 5:30 PM

Description: The career fair is three days away. This session gets you ready: how to research the companies that will be there, how to talk about yourself without sounding rehearsed, and how to turn a two-minute conversation into a lasting professional connection.
ELASP: How to Get an Internship
Date: Thursday, September 17
Time: 4:00 – 5:30 PM
Location: CBB 328
Description: Students who have landed internships and professionals who have hired for them break down what actually works — from where to search and how to apply to what makes someone stand out in an interview. Bring your questions. These are people who have been exactly where you are.
ELASP: RCC Career Fair
Date: Friday, September 18
Time: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Location: UH Hilton
Description: The Rockwell Career Center’s signature recruiting event brings dozens of employers to campus actively hiring Bauer students for internships and full-time positions. Come with your résumé ready and a few target companies in mind.
ELASP for Freshmen: Ice Cream Social
Date: Tuesday, September 22
Time: 4:30 – 6:00 PM
Location: Shasta’s Cones
Description: No agenda, no presentations — just ice cream and good company. Stop by Shasta’s Cones to meet other freshmen and the people running the program in the most low-pressure way possible.
ELASP: Headshot Social
Date: Tuesday, September 29
Time: 4:00 – 5:30 PM
Location: CBB 328
Description: Get a polished, professional headshot taken for free — perfect for LinkedIn, applications, and anywhere else you need to look the part. Stick around to network and put those new headshots to use by making some real connections.
ELASP: Bowling Social
Date: Tuesday, October 20
Time: 5:00 – 6:30 PM
Location: Student Center Games Room
Description: Midterms are behind you (or close enough). Take a break, grab a lane, and spend the evening bowling with other freshmen. Skill level is irrelevant. Showing up is the whole point.
ELASP: Painting Social
Date: Wednesday, November 4
Time: 5:00 – 7:00 PM
Location: CBB 328
Description: The end of the semester is coming in fast. Slow down for a couple of hours with a guided painting session — no experience needed, no pressure to produce a masterpiece. Just a chance to decompress and do something that isn’t a group project.
ELASP for Freshmen: End of the Semester Celebration
Date: Tuesday, November 17
Time: 5:00 – 6:30 PM

Description: You made it through your first semester at Bauer. This is your moment to look back at how far you’ve come, celebrate with the people who were right there with you, and close out the semester on a high note.
