The University of Houston’s Supply Chain Management (SCM) curriculum is strategically designed to deliver a comprehensive, industry-aligned education, preparing our students for dynamic, global supply chains in any industry. Built on a strong foundation of business, management, supply chain, and analytics principles, our program emphasizes both breadth and depth across the full spectrum of supply chain functions:
Plan – Buy/Source – Make/Process – Ship/Deliver – Data Analytics
Students engage with the end-to-end (E2E) supply chain while developing critical capabilities in management analytics, technology enablement, project governance, managing the customer experience, and strategic decision-making. Informed by strong industry partnerships, our course content is continuously updated to reflect emerging trends and innovations, ensuring that our graduates are equipped with the skills, insights, and agility to lead in today’s evolving supply chain environments – locally and globally.
Our courses provide many experiential, immersive learning opportunities such as applied projects, and industry-sponsored case studies, and simulations, providing students with real-world exposure experiences. Our program offers additional opportunities for Industry Engagement, Partnerships, and Increased Industry Value.
The program culminates in a Global Supply Chain Strategy Capstone Course, where students synthesize their learning to solve complex, real-world challenges in a competitive atmosphere.

Sample Course Schedule for SCM Majors
The supply chain management curriculum requires three semesters to complete after successful completion of SCM 3301 with a C+ or higher and STAT 3331 with a C or higher. Due to pre-requisite requirements it is not possible to complete the curriculum in a shorter period of time. Typical course sequence is as follows:

It is strongly suggested that students complete two or more internships during their program. Many of our most successful students complete several Supply Chain Management internships prior to graduation.
